The Youth and Students for Peace Misamis Occidental, together with the World Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles (WCARP), the Local Government Unit ( LGU) and Sanguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation of Aloran, organized a one-day webinar with the theme Shaping Peace Together, to mark the International Day of Peace 2020. It happened in the Municipality of Aloran, Misamis Occidental, Philippines, on the 21st of September 2020, via LIVE Webcast on Facebook.

This one-day webinar aims to reach potential young people and students who advocate and support peace and determined to build a YSP chapter in the said municipality. The support of the mayor of the Municipality of Aloran Hon. Junipher Roa, together with his Vice Mayor, Hon. Jimmy Regalado impacted the online event by being able to reach the support of government and political leaders through giving Messages of Peace.

Also, the said online event specifically meant to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Number 16, on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, which was also the thing celebrated on this very day.

An online webinar was organized by the YSP Misamis Occidental for potential young people and students who would promote peace and establish a YSP chapter in Aloran. Professor Jalipa, our speaker, and our host, Hon. Ace John Mutia, SK Federated President, one of our panelists, Mr. Marted Serino, President of the YSP Misamis Occidental, Irl Sayson, Secretary-General of the YSP Philippines, Nikki Jerusalem in one frame.
As YSP ‘s goal is to foster world peace by inspiring young people to become responsible citizens, the remarks of our political leaders are necessary for this to be done as they are our youth models. This is Hon. Junipher Roa, Mayor of Aloran, and Hon. Jimmy Regalado, Vice-Mayor of Aloran, who delivered the special remarks.
Message for Peace delivered by our Hon. Dindo Nasser Rivera, Hon. Jecel Mie Policar and Police Lieutenant Dennis Oche.
This online webinar event had a huge influence on young people and students because it was also the first one they’ve ever done, apart from the message it seeks to communicate. Aloran’s LGU was also very helpful and one of the factors that made this possible.
