Commemoration of the Day of Peace and National Reconciliation of Angola (Webinar)
To celebrate the 4th of April, Day of Peace and National Reconciliation of Angola, YSP-ANGOLA held the Youth for Peace Forum.
With this event, we celebrated the Day of Peace in Angola since 2002, when it officially silenced the weapons and bombs that afflicted the people. It was on this day that the Complementary Memorandum of Understanding to the Lusaka Protocol was signed between the Angolan Government and Unita.
The reflection of the webinar on the day of Peace in Angola was based on:
a) The challenges of young people in maintaining Peace
b) How to Plant Peace in the Hearts of People
The aim was to celebrate the Day of Peace and National Reconciliation of Angola and reflect on the role of young people in building the Culture of Peace and maintaining the Culture of the Heart.
The opening words were spoken by the Ambassador for Peace, Dr. José Carlos da Silva – who appealed to compassion, moderation, honesty, love, forgiveness, and unity.
We conclude that Peace transcends the end of the war, is concord, love, philanthropy – living for the cause of the other.
