Character Education (Democratic Republic of Congo)
One week after its designation and installation, the IAYSP provincial committee in Ituri province, located in the northeastern part of the country, organized a conference and debate focused on filial piety and the true values of youth on March 18, 2021. Eighteen participants, all academics, had taken part and had been sensitized and invited to join the IAYSP.
On the same day, in Kinshasa, IAYSP spoke with young people from the Kimwenza district on character education. The exchange focused on the theme: What does it mean to be good?
Madame Pauline, the initiator of the said activity, expressed her desire to see IAYSP work with young people to make them dynamic and skilled for the development of their neighborhood, particularly in the fight against very threatening erosion during this rainy period.
And in Bunia city on the 21st, as part of the mobilization of young people to join the IAYSP, they organized a second conference focused on character education; theme: filial piety.
Counting the three activities, they had the participation of 71 people in total (young people and students).
