2nd Service Project for the victims of typhoons in the Philippine
The International Association of Youth and Students for Peace–Philippines, together with the Universal Peace Federation and the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, conducted a Service Project for the typhoon Ulysses victims in the Philippines on November 21st, 2020, at Brgy. Kasiglahan Village Elementary School, Rodriguez, Rizal intended for 400 families’ beneficiaries.
The Vice-Governor of Rizal, Hon. Jun Rey San Juan and the Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman of barangay attended the Service Project, representing the youth sector.
Vice Governor, Hon. Jun Rey San Juan delivered a message of hope and a new beginning to the typhoon victims. He told each family to be strong together, surpassing this kind of challenge in their province.
The Chairman of IAYSP-Philippines, Mr. Leo Angelo Halog, delivered a message of love and hope to the Founder of YSP, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon. Mr. Halog emphasized to hope for the better and continue marching forward despite the current situation the families have been facing.
The Regional President of IAYSP-Asia Pacific 2, together with the Vice Regional President, Rev. Ronnie Sodusta, joined the Service Project with more than 25 young people who volunteered in the project.
It went smoothly with the Food Feeding Program for the children who lived in that evacuation center. The children showed the epitome of the resilient spirit of the Filipino people. Amidst the crisis that their country has been facing, it’s undeniable that it’s not impossible to wear a smile on the face.
