YSP Suriname Inauguration

On February 16, 2019, Suriname held the Inauguration of Youth and Students for Peace (YSP) in Paramaribo. The inauguration motto was, “The Role of Youth and Students in Establishing a Culture of Sustainable Peace.” The event was attended by the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Ms. Lalinie Gopal and her protocol team; Vice-Chairman of the second largest political party in Suriname, the Progressive Reform Party (Verenigde Hindoestaanse Partij VHP) Dr. Glenn Oelhers; a representative of the Minister of Social Affairs and Public Housing Mr. James Wills; Ambassadors for Peace, sixteen youth. Amongst the youth attending were: a youth leader from the second largest political party in Suriname, three university students, one high school student, three secondary modern school students and families.
