YSP Ocenia Inauguration #Australia

The inauguration and launch of Oceania Youth and Students for Peace was held on July 12 at the Jubilee Room of the Parliament of New South Wales in Sydney. This was the final session of the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP) Leadership Conference, which around one hundred high quality guests attended. There were parliamentarians from Australia, New Zealand, the Solomon Islands, Fiji, Afghanistan, India and Nepal, as well as academics, civil society leaders, lawyers, religious leaders, authors, writers and social commentators. The special guest was the Chairman of the Washington Times, Mr. Tom McDevitt.

YSP International President, Dr. Robert Kittel led this session. Special remarks were given by Hon. Alvick Maharaj, Assistant Minister of Employment, Productivity, Industrial Relations, Youth and Sport of the Government of Fiji. The Leader of the Myanmar Youth, Min Oo Zaw, gave an inspiring message followed by Mica Camara, Secretary-General of YSP Oceania, who led the youth in reading and signing of the YSP Declaration Resolution. The session and day was concluded with an inspiring speech encouraging all the youth and participants present, from this day, to lead the way and spread the hope and to all the people in their nations and communities.
