YSP Leadership Seminar: YSP Oceania Inauguration #Australia

Over the course of one whole week – starting from July 5-7 in which the YSP Leadership Seminar was held, and concluding with the Inauguration of the Oceania Chapter of the Youth and Students for Peace on July 12, 2019 -Oceania held a successful YSP event where youth from Australia, New Zealand, Solomon Island, Marshal Island, Vanuatu, Samoa, Fiji and Papua New Guinea were able to understand the vision of YSP and the role each of them played in bringing about a culture of values and integrity based on universal principles rooted in the family. These understandings lead to the signing of the declaration each participant resolved to establish the YSP chapter in their nations and communities.

The inauguration and launch of Oceania Youth and Students for Peace was held on July 12 at the Jubilee Room of the Parliament of New South Wales in Sydney. This was the final session of the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP) Leadership Conference in which around one hundred high quality guests attended, including parliamentarians from Australia, New Zealand, Solomon Island, Fiji, Afghanistan, India and Nepal, as well as academics, civil society leaders, lawyers, religious leaders, authors, writers and social commentators. Special guest was Chairman of the Washington Times, Mr. Tom McDevitt. Also present was Asia Pacific Regional Chair Dr. Chung Sik Yong, and Oceania Regional Director, Rev. Yutaka Yamada and Dr. Robert S. Kittel, YSP International President.
