YSP EUME Summer Assembly 2022 #Austria
IAYSP EUME held its first regional Summer Assembly on July 8 – 10, 2022, at their Headquarters in Vienna, Austria.
Thirty-four representatives from 12 countries spent three days together to:
- Re-connect with each other and draw strength from their relationships,
- Inherit and shape IAYSP EUME’s vision and strategy together, and
- Discover the tools developed and provided by IAYSP and learn to apply them in their specific setting.
The program was rich in content and activities were group-based. There was plenty of time made available for networking and recreation in the evenings. Before the official program started on Friday, participants could also take part in a special guided tour of the United Nations Headquarters in Vienna and enjoy a very informative question-and-answer session with Dr Farida Valiullina, UPF representative to the UN in Vienna.
The morning of the last day of the assembly was dedicated entirely to learning from other participating organizations.
The participants had the opportunity to listen to an interview with UPF Austria and WFWP Austria presidents, hear a case study about working with the Youth Council in Moldova, join a presentation about working with high-level leaders in Albania, and enjoy a testimony about a recent conference in Kosovo. At said conference, Bogdan Pammer – President of IAYSP EUME – presented the Peace Designer prospects for universities.
The event was a great success, as participants showed ample interest in future regional assemblies and working with other chapters in the future.
