Toronto Island Clean Up (Canada)

The YSP chapter in Toronto embarked on its first cleanup project since the pandemic started on Saturday, November 27th. Sixteen youth took the ferry to the Toronto Islands and filled nine trash bags before participating in a scavenger hunt at the park on Centre Island as a reward for their hard work. The group braved the early cold of the winter but still enjoyed the quiet peace of the natural environment. The YSP group was recognized by a village resident who invited the youth to return for a guided tour. Three teams competed in the scavenger hunt, which was done on the GooseChase platform. They have scheduled future cleanups for after the winter in 2022 when the snow melts.
