On August 15, 2019, Youth and Students for Peace (YSP) Panama visited the Omar Torrijos Herrera Polytechnic Institute, Ola District, Penenome. Here, character education was presented to youth and students. A total of fifty students and youth attended the program mostly from ninth to twelfth grade. They received lectures explaining the mission and vision of YSP and how YSP plans to promote peace.
Ms. Isabela De Lora shared, “What does it mean to be good?” Ms. Laura De Lora discussed, “Where do I learn to be good?” Lastly, Ms. Laura De Lora discussed, “Sustainable Peace”. The youth realized that it is not only by intellect that they can save the nation but with true love, loving the family, society, nation and world.
The symposium ended with questions and answers. Students were able to ask questions about YSP, showing their eagerness to organize peace projects in their communities. Educational institutions in Panama have welcomed YSP and expressed their desire to support programs to raise global leaders in the nation.
