Leadership for Adolescence and Youth Friendly Cities (LAYFC) #Philippines
IAYSP Palawan Chapter, represented by the President of the Chapter, Ms. Flordeliza J. Carias, participated in a three-day Leadership Program. The Leadership for Adolescence and Youth Friendly Cities (LAYFC) for Youth Leaders organized the Challenge Initiative-TCI through collaborations with: the Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Population, Reproductive Health and the Zuellig Family Foundation, youth leaders from the cities of Puerto Princesa, Dipolog, and Cagayan De Oro. Through this program, youth were able to address adolescence sexual and reproductive health concerns where they were able to undertake deep dive activities such as interviews, and implementing what we had learned through the heart-to-heart talks and youth who had experienced early pregnancy.
This seminar provided youth with a platform to widen understanding as bridging and empathetic leaders, submerging themselves in a different perspective of adolescent life and taking ownership over the problems of youth; especially in teenage pregnancy and sexual health as a whole.
The program was introduced by the SK Federation of Puerto Princesa City and the LYDC.
