Leaders Connect Webinar Series #Philippines

On October 26, IAYSP Philippines hosted an online program on mental health to celebrate and raise awareness on World Mental Health Day. As the pressing issues of suicide and depression have been continuously increasing in the Philippines recently during this global pandemic, it is indeed with urgency that we need to remind and teach our young people effective strategies on how to manage anxiety and depression.

With the theme, “Let’s Talk: Mental Health Matters,” the online program urges our young people that “it’s okay not to be okay” and that mental health is a fundamental aspect in life that we should allocate appropriate time towards.

Distinguished speakers such as Dr. Shigehiro Suzuki, who is a Chief Director of Medical Corporation Shin-Ai-Kai, from Japan provided valuable perspectives as the main speaker. Mr. Avelino Rivera from Manila Youth Development and Welfare Bureau; Hon. Dr. Candice Tupaz, a City Councilor in Iloilo City; and Mr. Kenneth Bermejo, a Guidance Advocate of the Sto. Tomas De Villanueva Parochial School; played roles as panelists.

Ms. Blessie Belle Ramos, YSP Leader from La Union Province, moderated the online program.
