International Costal Cleanup #Philippines

On Saturday, September 21, 2019, Youth and Students for Peace Philippines, together with student volunteers, participated in the International Coastal Cleanup Day to support the Battle for a Trash-Free Manila Bay at Baseco Beach, Tondo.

The activity was carried out by almost ten thousand volunteers, coming from different parts of Luzon. Most of these volunteers were students and teachers from various institutions. The program started at 7am and ended prior to lunch. Volunteers collected trash and categorized them according to type. The collected garbage was placed in sacks and brought to the weighing station to record data. The purpose of fulfilling data forms is to monitor the types of trash commonly found in the Manila Bay.
