Great Green Wall #IAYSP Burkina Faso
On August 12, 2023, IAYSP Burkina Faso organized the launch of the “Great Green Wall” in Ouagadougou. This launch was established for peace on the occasion of International Youth Day, with the planting of 50 trees. Following words of encouragement, participants proceeded to plant the plants. Several partner associations also contributed in this reforestation activity and participants committed to maintaining these plants on a regular basis to ensure they can grow healthily. The Great Green Wall is a project to combat the advance of the Sahara Desert to the South, by promoting reforestation and promoting sustainable development by creating a vegetation belt across Africa across 8000km. Burkina Faso thus becomes the first country in Africa to launch this noble project.
