GLOBAL YOUTH ACTION PHILIPPINES 2024 #IAYSP Philippines

In commemoration of the International Youth Day, the International Association of Youth and Students for Peace – Philippines joined in partnership with Youth and Students for Peace – Korea to hold a Peace Designers’ Global Youth Action Philippines 2024. The event focused on the theme, “Bridges of Hope: Engage, Educate, Linking Cultures, and Empower for a Sustainable Future,” and was held between August 8 – 11, 2024 at Bauang, La Union. The event was participated by 65 volunteers from Korea and Philippines.

On August 9, 2024, the volunteers went to Pogo Elementary School to lead a food distribution activity, in which 150 pupils enjoyed spaghetti and burgers given by the volunteers. After distributing food, the volunteers went to Quinavite Elementary School to for a gift giving activity. Here, school supplies were given to 275 pupils. In the afternoon, the volunteers went to Quinavite Barangay Hall and repainted the basketball court. The following day, the volunteers went to the Bauang Bakawan Eco-Tourism Park and planted 100 Bugalon Mangrove Trees in the area.
