On February 9, Victoria Tching-Bobe, President of YSP Cameroon, was selected and appointed as a junior parliamentarian. The process began with a project aimed at providing youth improved training through character education. The teaching of character education provided Tching-Bobe the platform for her to join as a junior deputy amongst the one hundred eighty young deputies. Some staff members of YSP joined her in the appointment process and encouraged her as well.
Later on, she participated as a junior deputy in a conference organized by young parliamentarians in Douala. The conference was participated by thirty-three youth, with the theme, “Patriotic, economy, the implication of youths’ challenges and values.”
Based on the conference theme, “Patriotic, economy, the implication of youths’ challenges and values,” the YSP President noted that, “The problem youth are facing outside today is the problem of mentality. It will be difficult for young people to develop positively and become responsible if they do not change their mindset.”
She later introduced different programs and projects that could help on the matter and gave real-life examples of youth that had realised a better attitude and character.
